“Against hatred and agitation”: 200 to 300 people demonstrate against racism in Bern

On Friday evening, 200 to 300 people demonstrated in Bern against racism and for a society of solidarity.

With the approved meeting on Münsterplatz and a short parade through the city, they wanted to set an example ‘against hatred and agitation’ and for cohesion, tolerance and democracy. “We demonstrate colorfully and peacefully,” said one of the organizers at the start of the rally.

Right-wing extremism and fascism are on the rise again in Europe, according to an appeal. After the large demonstrations in Germany against the AfD, Switzerland is now following suit for the first time. Right-wing extremist groups such as Junge Tat are also spreading hatred and incitement in Switzerland. Anyone who copies right-wing extremist positions and calls for mass deportations paves the way for inhumane ideas.
