Everything will be dark here on Monday: Federal Social Insurance Service.

The entrance gates of the Federal Social Insurance Agency (BSV) were closed on Monday from 3.58 pm. The reason was a power outage in parts of the city of Bern. This also ensured that government offices remained dark.

BSV employees were therefore asked to leave their offices after 4 p.m. and continue to work from home if possible. BSV spokesperson Markus Binder confirmed this to Blick. Initially the locks were operated with emergency power and later opened manually. It is unclear how many officers were involved.

No electricity for a few days

On Tuesday, BSV employees were asked to continue working from home. Even then, power was not restored to all offices. The authority should function normally again from Wednesday.
