Sensational find in Kyburg: Zurich Cantonal Archeology discovered a complete glove from the 14th century.

So far, only five gloves from this period have been found in Switzerland, Zurich’s construction department announced on Tuesday at a media conference in Dübendorf. And none of these examples are anywhere near as well preserved and display as many details of style and decoration as the Kyburg glove.

According to cantonal archaeology, most other known gloves date back to the 15th century at the earliest. A copy of the sensational find will be on display in the permanent exhibition in Kyburg Castle from the end of March.

This together with a reconstruction showing what this important armor originally looked like. The original will be on display for three weeks in September.
