The SBV, together with other affected sectors, is committed to saying no to the biodiversity initiative. On the one hand, new regulations are no longer needed and on the other hand, the nature conservation organizations are making completely disproportionate demands, the SBV announced on Wednesday.
The SBV also calls for an increase in producer prices by between five and ten percent. Fair and cost-covering prices form the basis for further improvements in the areas of animal welfare, climate protection or the promotion of biodiversity, the report says.
The reason for the demand is the deteriorating economic situation of Swiss farmers. According to the SBV, buyers are now obliged to pay the necessary additional price and become involved in the sale. (SDA)
