Switzerland was also accused of “complicity”. «Swiss weapons kill in Gaza! Shame on us,” read one banner. “Bern must end all military cooperation with Israel,” read another banner. Several demonstrators also demanded the resignation of Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis. “Cassi’s firing!” they shouted.
The Islamist Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 and the war in the Gaza Strip sparked protests around the world. Initially there were mainly solidarity demonstrations with Israel, but now there are also pro-Palestinian protests.
