The landscape initiative, which has been temporarily withdrawn, is having a difficult time in the National Council. The councils already adopted an indirect counter-proposal to the referendum in the autumn with the second part of the partial revision of the Spatial Planning Act.
The Council of States voted no to the initiative in 2022; the Federal Council also rejects it. However, the National Council has not yet made a decision on this. The majority of his Committee on the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy requested rejection. SVP, Center, FDP and GLP want no to the initiative.
Initiators rely on the law
The initiators themselves rely on the revised law and have therefore partially withdrawn their request. It could be taken out of the drawer if the law does not come into effect. The SP and the Greens argued for a yes to the initiative if it comes to the ballot.
However, opponents argued that a referendum against the new spatial planning law was not in sight. About thirty individual speakers want to talk about the initiative on Tuesday. (SDA)
