Former SVP National Councilor Hans-Ueli Vogt becomes SRG’s Board of Directors.

The Federal Council has elected Hans-Ueli Vogt (53), former national councilor of the SVP of Zurich, as a member of the board of directors of the Swiss Radio and Television Company (SRG). Vogt succeeded former federal councilor Ueli Maurer (72) at the end of 2022. However, he was defeated by current Environment Minister Albert Rösti (56).

The second representative in Leutschenbach will be the former FDP government member from Zurich, Ursula Gut-Winterberger (70). The Federal Ministry of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (Uvek) announced this on Wednesday. Vogt and Gut-Winterberger were elected members of the SRG Board of Directors for the Federal Government for the term from early 2024 to the end of 2027.

The SRG delegate meeting will elect three members of the board of directors, including the president, on December 1, 2023. The presidents of the four regional SRG companies are ex officio members of the board of directors and are elected by the corresponding regional councils. Two members of the SRG Board of Directors are appointed by the Federal Council.

The former FDP government councilor of Zurich, Gut-Winterberger, is starting her third term as a board member of the SRG. The Federal Council first elected her in the autumn of 2015. It will be the first term for Hans-Ueli Vogt, former SVP member of the National Council and candidate for the Federal Council. Vogt replaces Marc Furrer, who will step down at the end of the current term. (SDA)
