The decision to reduce the speed was taken for safety reasons and in consultation with the Aargau cantonal police, Astra announced on Friday. As the surface is worn, grip is reduced, Astra media spokesman Samuel Hool said when asked by news agency Keystone-SDA.
The discount applies until the weather and temperature allow the decking to be repaired. According to Astra, renovation work will start next spring.

This means that all four lanes are on one side of the road, while the other side of the road is clear for construction work.
