Zug government councilor Villiger resigns

Beat Villiger (65) informed Zug’s governing council of his early resignation for health reasons. This was announced on Wednesday. Due to his current health situation and based on medical recommendations, he will not be able to resume work until the end of this year, the statement said.

Since September 5, 2022, Villiger has had to take a medically prescribed break. And never goes back to his office. Villiger thanks the board and its employees for their understanding and the always good cooperation over the years.

At the beginning of the year, the newly elected ones take over

The Executive Council regrets his resignation and wishes him a speedy and speedy recovery.

The official affairs of the Security Directorate will be led by the Deputy Director of Security, Stephan Schleiss (49, SVP) until the end of the year. As of January 1, 2023, newly elected government councilor Laura Dittli (center) will take over as head of security.
