She had to sleep twice to decide whether she wanted to accept the position at all. Anna Rosenwasser (33), queer activist and political influencer, surprisingly won a seat in the National Council for the SP Zurich on Sunday. “Büsis, I have been chosen,” she wrote on Instagram to her 36,000 followers.
Rosenwasser did not expect that at all. Although there were even posters of her at Zurich’s main station, she never aimed to be elected. Your candidacy was only intended to generate votes for the SP.
But then everything turned out differently. From 20th place on the list, she achieved the eighth best result. She, who has never held political office before. Elected with 92,462 votes. She ran for office four years ago, at the time for the Juso, and received 8,000 votes.
Cold feet on Monday

She belies the SVP
With her election, Rosenwasser has put the lie to the SVP Zurich, who has put the gender debate at the center of his election campaign with his ‘woke madness’ campaign. Zurich councilor Susanne Brunner (51) has launched a popular initiative that wants to ban the gender star in the city. Queer organizations are happy

She will bring important concerns to Parliament and represent the interests of the community in the best possible way.
