In the canton of Vaud, the cards are reshuffled in the National Council. The SP, the SVP and the Center each win one seat. On the other hand, the FDP, the Greens and the Green Liberals each lose one seat.
In the race for the Council of States, Pierre-Yves Maillard (55), national councilor and president of the Swiss Trade Union Confederation, was elected in the first round. FDP man Pascal Broulis (58) missed the absolute majority in second place and must advance to the second voting round.
