The Fionnay and Nendaz power stations will be fully operational again at the end of winter 2023/2024, Grande Dixence, the owner of the power stations, announced on Friday. The pressure pipeline that connects the Lac des Dix with the Rhône plain via the two power stations was also completely renovated.

The building was built over 60 years ago and needed a thorough makeover. “Thanks to this extensive work, Grande Dixence maintains its role as a system power plant that can supply a lot of power to the electricity grid in just a few minutes, maintaining the essential balance between electricity supply and demand,” said Beat Imboden, head of the Grande Dixence Communiqué quoted.
