In general, very high turnout is not expected in Sunday’s federal parliamentary elections. Due to the election envelopes that have already arrived in the larger Swiss cities, no clear trend is visible five days before the elections.
The increases are offset by decreases in the interim results due to the incoming election envelopes, according to a survey by the Keystone-SDA news agency on Tuesday.
There is probably an average turnout in Zurich. Central Switzerland shows increasing trends, northwest Switzerland shows decreasing trends, and Bern and Western Switzerland show roughly the same trends.
Turnout is expected to increase significantly between now and election Sunday. In 2019 this was 45.1 percent, a decrease of 3.4 percentage points compared to 2015.
