“The cost brake initiative is more urgent than ever,” the Center Party announced on Thursday. After the new premium shock next year, the cost explosion must finally be stopped.
The Federal Council and Parliament also recognized the need for action and developed an indirect counter-proposal, the center said. However, this is not effective enough because the law does not provide guidance in case cost and quality targets are not met.
According to the popular initiative “For lower premiums – reducing healthcare costs”, the federal government and cantons must take measures if costs rise too much compared to wage developments.
