Christian Michel will succeed Daniela Sigrist on January 1, 2024.

Between 2013 and 2020, Sigrist led the education department and in this role chaired the school committee, as the Heimberg community announced on Tuesday. She has been in the finance department since 2021. Sigrist would not have stood as a candidate for next year’s municipal elections because of the current twelve-year term.

With her resignation, Sigrist wants to give her successor the opportunity to become a member of the local government from January 1, she said at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. The community is very lucky to have such a good person like Michel.

According to the communiqué, Christian Michel is a project engineer for vehicle testing at the Federal Armament Office. He will be 48 years old when he takes office. The division of the departments and the election of the vice president would take place during a city council meeting in mid-October. (SDA)
