Inflation, rents, health insurance premiums: Households with income from work are under increasing pressure in Switzerland. The Swiss Trade Union Confederation (SGB) has established this and is therefore calling for a real wage increase of five percent by 2024.
Despite the continued good economy, employers only wanted to compensate for inflation, the SGB criticized on Friday at its media conference on the 2024 wage round in Bern. The high margins would result in increases in top wages, bonuses and dividends.
The Federal Council and Parliament refused any discharge. A turnaround is needed with real wage increases and concrete measures against the explosion of health insurance premiums and the rent hammer. The SGB is therefore preparing for the mobilization against the fourth round of minus wages in a row. The starting signal is the purchasing power demonstration on 16 September in Bern. (SDA)
