The responsible parliamentary committees want to reintroduce parts of the failed media financing reform. The Committee for Transport and Telecommunications of the National Council (KVF-N) followed two different parliamentary initiatives of the Council of States, the parliamentary services announced on Tuesday. The Council of States committee can now draw up a draft decision.

In addition, the National Council Commission has started implementing another initiative from within its Council, which aims to provide more indirect support to small regional newspaper publishers. The implementation of the initiatives is intended to guarantee, in the medium term, an interim solution to the structural problems related to the preservation of media diversity. (SDA)
