The Post is not slow. Your employees can party in August at a festival that the state-owned company is organizing especially for them in Zofingen AG.
But neither the KantiBänd Zofigen nor the Zofingen Gospel Family Choir are performing. The yellow giant relies on better-sounding names.
Dörfs es bitzeli meh si?
And it’s not just one or two stars that Swiss Post clears their bills for. She can’t get enough, the news portal “Argovia Today” announced: Algerian singer Soolking, German musician Gentleman and Swiss acts Stefanie Heinzmann, DJ Bobo, Francine Jordi, Hecht and Stephan Eicher will perform.
The post-festival costs up to 3 million francs. The Post assumes it will be less. But: each participant has to incur costs of 125 francs. There is room for up to 12,000 people on the site where the Heitere Open Air was previously held and the infrastructure of which is used by Swiss Post. Because Swiss Post holds its festival on August 19 and 20, so spread over two days, a maximum of 24,000 people could participate. It can therefore be so expensive per participant.
No special conditions
The Post confirms that and emphasizes that the artists receive the usual market fees. You therefore do not benefit from special conditions. “That wouldn’t be fair compared to other festivals,” says spokeswoman Silvana Grellmann. “Swiss Post gives its employees a large sum of money to show how much they value their employees’ day-to-day work.” We would like to express our gratitude for their efforts.
Although other large companies collect similar amounts per employee when celebrating anniversaries, the sheer number of artists is surprising – precisely because the state-owned company has to save 100 million francs and without the increase in postage costs that has now taken place, it would almost be a mess, as CEO Roberto Cirillo (52) has convinced the public.
A star for every occasion
The state colossus may also face a bad financial situation as employees like to indulge themselves with stars. As Blick knows, the rapper Stress (40) was already booked in November 2021 for the annual management conference, which was then in Montreux VD. And for the presentation of the new postal uniforms, the state-owned company again had moderator Christa Rigozzi (40) brought from Ticino. The chic new clothes for the staff, including the new Post logo, must have cost a few francs.
With all the willingness to spend, you should probably offer the employees at the festival for the 175th anniversary – which the group can actually celebrate next year – more.
The party daughter has been sold
The notion of the mega-festival doesn’t get any bigger when you think of the lavish parties in Vietnam that made headlines in the Post. Known as a party animal, subsidiary Swiss Post Solutions (SPS) shot down the post office, but apparently learned little from it.
And the fact that it had to pay back more than 200 million francs in subsidies to the public sector for misconduct at Postbus did not make the financial situation any better. Since the Postbus scandal, the yellow giant has made negative headlines.
