Bernhard Diethelm, councilor of the canton of Schwyz, leaves the court in Zurich.

The Zurich-Sihl public prosecutor’s office will make the final decision on moving the case to the higher court after examining the written justification of the verdict, as the media office of the senior prosecutor’s office announced on Tuesday at the request of Keystone-SDA.

The Zurich court found Diethelm guilty on Monday of assault and possession and distribution of prohibited pornography and sentenced him to eight months in prison. He also received a suspended fine of 120 daily rates of CHF 100 each.

However, he was acquitted of the charges of attempted rape and endangering his life. Diethelm was accused of assaulting a prostitute in Zurich. (SDA)
