This sticker causes problems.

Andreas Glarner (60) rants. It is Wednesday evening and the National Council of the SVP is leaving the Federal Palace. In front of him, on the Bundesplatz, the women are on strike. Glarner squeezes through the crowd and wants to go home. But then he stops abruptly. His eye fell on a pink sticker. Glarner can’t believe his eyes and is shocked. Because on the sticker his head is sticking out of a garbage can. Next to it is written: “Who will take action and remove Andi Glarner?”

“This is a call to violence”

The National Council of the SVP picks up the cell phone and publishes a photo of the sticker on Twitter. He immediately believes he has identified the perpetrator: it must have been SP Switzerland. When asked, he says: “This is a call to violence. Just outrageous.” That same evening he went to the Council presidency to correct the SP. But there he was told: “What happens outside the Federal Palace is not discussed inside.” Glarner says he understands that. But the incident is not forgotten: “I expect an apology from the SP.”

There’s only one problem. The sticker does not come from the SP, but from its young party, the Juso. This is evidenced by the rose depicted on the sticker. And this is also confirmed when asked by Nicola Siegrist (26), chairman of Juso Switzerland. The sticker is pasted at a Juso stall on the Bundesplatz. The young party had it produced two weeks ago after Glarner started a polemic about gender day at a school in Stäfa ZH.

Glarner had published a flyer from the school informing parents about a gender day. Glarner then wrote on Twitter: “Who will take action and fire the school management?” The Juso adhesive alludes to this.

“I’m Not a Mimosa”

Juso president Nicolas Siegrist does not think of excuses: “Andreas Glarner is a danger to democracy. He plays people against each other and must leave politics by resigning or by being voted out.” Siegrist admits that the wording is deliberately exaggerated. But he finds: “Andreas Glarner is constantly sharing and agitating against minorities.” But even he apparently has thin skin.

The SVP politician objects: «I can easily plug it in. I’ve failed all my life. I’m not a mimosa either. But that has crossed a red line.”

Nobody from SP circles wants to respond to this: Glarner is just looking for attention with the shouting. But he didn’t deserve it.
