The women take to the streets. Demonstrations and protests are on the agenda in dozens of Swiss cities. These include pushchair transfers in Zurich, Basel and Bern. Because Wednesday 14 June is women’s strike day.
This year’s event is called the “Feminist Strike”. With this, the organizers want to open the field and invite not only the women, but all sympathizers and sympathizers to the protest.
No violence against women
The Swiss Federation of Trade Unions and regional strike collectives have called for a strike for more equality. They are supported by left-green parties, especially the Greens and the SP.
Your requirements are many. These include minimum wages in all sectors, shorter working hours, better pensions and longer parental leave. They also demand more money for childcare and an end to violence against women and people in the LGBTQ community.
