“I stay”: Alain Berset wants to be confirmed as a federal councilor in December.

Federal President Alain Berset (51) wants to participate again in the elections for the Federal Council in December. That is what the SP magistrate and the incumbent federal president told the SRF at the Swiss Economic Forum.

The former State Council of Freiburg SP was elected a member of the Bundesrat in 2012 and has been in charge of the Department of the Interior (EDI) ever since.

He wants to continue working after 2023 and advance his files, Berset said in an interview with Blick in December last year. He is still full of energy and wants to continue.

His passion for EDI remained great, he said at the time. He is very happy there. There are many construction sites in health policy, such as the uniform financing of outpatient and intramural facilities. Earlier there were rumors that he was not allowed to transfer to the finance or foreign affairs department when the departments were redistributed. (Okay)
