Moral responsibility in society

Not all human actions are subject to approval or condemnationif it is an action whose performance cannot be avoided, such as eating, sleeping, and in general all physiological functions or actions that do not have moral consequences, such as walking down the street, playing, etc., we cannot consider all of these acts within the moral activities of man, without thereby ceasing to be works of man.

A moral act, on the other hand, is part of the normative context or moral code that governs a particular community. It is a conscious and voluntary activity that presupposes the subject’s free participation in its realization. Human works include all human activities some of which are acts that affect the moral life.

He behaves morally correctly are those to whom the individual is can attribute responsibility. Example: What moral responsibility does a person who commits murder have to defend his life? What kind of responsibility does someone run over in a traffic accident bear because their car has a manufacturing problem and the brakes don’t work? As can be seen, the same act can represent different degrees of responsibility depending on the circumstances arising, from the previous questions we can draw the following conclusions: In the first case, murder in self-defenseit follows that the one who does it does not do it voluntarily, has no intention of harming himself, but to prevent it from being done to him.

An alternative is imposed from the outside, to which one must respond, there is no free choice between the life of another and one’s own, a decision must be made to save a life, but that decision is not product of analysis, premeditation. Of course, in this example we consider the attack and the response to be immediate, unplanned, without options.

In the second case it was not premeditated, however, what would happen if a car accident happened because the driver was driving for the first time, without any training? Here there is total moral responsibility, because you have obligation to know its operation when taking over the car.

Recently, we have read news in the newspapers colored by events such as: frauds, robberies, sexist violence, injustices and inequalities, moral damage is created here which is considered an insult dignity, honor, peace, physical integrity and privacy of people.

A perfect society undoubtedly does not exist, but it is undoubtedly the moral responsibility of an act that is in direct relationship with CONSCIOUSNESS, the knowledge that a being has about itself and its environment. That knowledge of good and evil that enables a person to make a moral judgment of reality and actions, especially their own. Also, moral responsibility is directly related to MORAL FREEDOMwhich is the ability of a human being not to do what he wants, but to do what he wills morally correct.
