On Tuesday, Economy Minister Guy Parmelin will present an action plan to combat the housing shortage. It is commendable that the Federal Council of the SVP was able to bring all the players together at a round table to discuss appropriate measures to combat the housing crisis.
But nothing more. The action plan available to SonntagsBlick is surprisingly action-free – more talk than concrete. Effective measures to quickly defuse the situation in the housing market are largely absent.
The Parmelin Housing Department is simply a mixture of recommendations, analyzes and guidelines. To maintain the integrity of the image, the round table has no corners or edges.
For example, a proposal to allocate more federal funds to promote affordable rental apartments had no chance. A plan to create a real estate acquisition fund for non-profit developers also failed. Reason: “Tight financial situation of the federal government.”
So for now everything remains the same: responsibility lies with the cantons. A code that was used at the beginning of the Corona crisis – as a license to do nothing. Problems will not be solved this way.
