Dirty campaigns in election competition

In the midst of a fierce election campaign, the panorama is clouded by the appearance of disloyal tactics and dirty campaigns that seek to undermine the integrity of individual candidates.

As an aspiring representative for District 8-4, I have a duty to address these issues transparently and fairly, focusing on solid proposals and moving away from questionable practices.

Recently, information was leaked about the presidential candidate, Martín Torrijos, related to appointments for family members. It is essential to emphasize that the focus should be on the proposals and the real welfare for the state, avoiding falling into the game of diverting attention with distraction strategies, and even less attacks on the family.

Unfortunately, the Electoral Court had to intervene in the case of complaints about dirty campaigns. In the case of Carrizo and Rómulo, they officially filed complaints of unfair practices against the candidate Ricardo Lombana, the main representative of independents and those who claim to be different but have the same bad practices as always. This highlights the importance of taking a good look at candidates who offer competition based on solid proposals and mutual respect, rather than resorting to strategies that only undermine confidence in the electoral process.

It is important to remember that the Electoral Ethics Pact, although criticized by some, seeks to preserve the integrity of the competition. However, recent complaints indicate that this agreement may not be enough to stop dirty campaigns and that monitoring and sanctioning mechanisms need to be strengthened.

As a candidate, I will always advocate for a fair and transparent competition. In my bill, I will advocate for reforms that strengthen campaign regulation and oversight, ensuring that candidates focus on presenting real solutions to the challenges facing our community.

It is important to emphasize the importance of informed participation of citizens. I urge the voters to carefully analyze the proposals of each candidate and not to be influenced by strategies that seek to divert attention from the problems we face as a society.

We live in times when we face great challenges, from economic issues to the management of public resources. It is my responsibility to work tirelessly to solve these problems and faithfully represent the interests of the community. Only by focusing on constructive dialogue and solutions can we build a stronger and fairer future for all citizens.
