Our thoughts are with the victims of the shameful attack on Israeli civilians. Hamas is a cancer. He destroys innocent lives on both the Jewish and Arab sides. I personally lived in Kibbutz Reim, which was the victim of this incredible attack. In its charter, Hamas seeks to destroy Israel and every Jew. They preach that Jews should be killed wherever they are, throughout the world. Hamas has proven several times that these are not empty words.

Hamas can never be a partner for peace. He is using the Arab population of Gaza as hostages. Fatah was driven out of the Gaza Strip in a fratricidal war and has been ruled by a terrorist organization ever since.
The Federal Council finally reacted and named Hamas an international terrorist organization. However, today there are still people in the Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA) who want to keep the channels open. With a regime that in word and deed is no different from the SS.
What no one could imagine has become a sad reality. During World War II, Jews had to hide in basements or closets to avoid deportation by the Nazis. The fact that some 80 years later they would have to do it again in Israel should be a revelation to all of us. It should be clear to everyone that Hamas cannot be a partner for peace.
The only organization that also has to negotiate with the devil is the International Red Cross. A democratic state governed by the rule of law, on the contrary, is not obliged to maintain contacts with terrorist organizations. Or would anyone consider establishing relations with the Islamic State or Al Qaeda?
The DFFA used our tax money to fund school textbooks in the Gaza Strip that praised the extermination of Jews and portrayed suicide bombers as heroes. The so-called humanitarian aid that Switzerland has provided so far amounts to hundreds of millions of francs. Hamas used some of this money to finance its weapons arsenal.
In the end, most left-wing politicians in Switzerland – unfortunately not all yet – have finally realized who Hamas really is. Israel has proven that it can negotiate peace treaties with Arab states. The EDA has no need for useful idiots who act as peacekeepers for their own sake, waste our tax dollars and help fund a terrorist organization.
