Dr. Henning Mast’s PMEDA AG (70) has declared an astonishing number of people healthy in the past – and thus saved insurance companies from paying out millions.

This week, the Federal Social Insurance Office (BSV) removed the controversial neurologist Henning Mast from PMEDA AG in connection with IV reports. In its assessment, the Federal Quality Review Board (EKQMB) concluded that the “vast majority” of PMEDA reports reviewed had “serious formal and substantive deficiencies”.

However, BSV does not want to reopen IV applications that were rejected based on the PMEDA report. “The decisions on legal issues remain in force,” the department states. This is a slap in the face to all those who were victims of the party’s dubious PMEDA report. They have to deal with being denied IV support because they got the wrong expert.

Nobody knows how many there are. Since 2013, PMEDA has been involved in the preparation of approximately 2,500 IV reports. The vast majority of them were probably aimed at the detriment of the applicants. In the canton of Solothurn, an assessment of all PMEDA reports found that between 2013 and 2020, only just under 18 percent of those surveyed were classified as unfit for work and receiving a disability pension.

Given these numbers, all IV applications that were rejected due to the PMEDA report should be renewed. Everything else is unworthy of the rule of law.
