The new reality of career guidance professionals in Panama

Once playing and running around the beaches of my beloved Puerto Armuelles, When I was a teenager, barefoot, happy and lying on the sand, I asked myself a few questions… what will happen to me when I’m 30? Where will I be? married? with children? Will I still live here? I’ll be a big pro, but so what? Questions without answers, but which aroused great interest in me.

Every question I had was answered with facts; I finished high school with care, love and dedication Grandma Cenobia Piti from Vindo.

Years later, due to the decisions of adults, I arrived in the capital; Then someone took me by the hand, led me, led me and brought me to the college. Not everything was there. With studying and preparations, I left in pursuit of my other dreams: someone who always guided me told me that I had to move on before taking on the responsibility of nine months. Man, did he know what he was talking about!

Now, sitting on the sofa, with a cup of coffee, I wonder: what would come of it me if my father, Raúl Vinda, wouldn’t you take me? Yes, oriented… I was a girl without ideas about adult life, or are you going to tell me that at the age of 17 we already have our lives figured out and our future written? I pray!

Today, motivated by my good and bad experiences, the orientation of my father, mother and grandmother, inspired by my learning, upbringing, values and principles, I am looking for another dream: to be Bachelor of Education specialized in Educational and professional guidance, because I wish all boys, girls, adolescents and older people an orientation equal to or better than the one I had. Did you know that guidance is not only educational? In order for an individual to become a person, he must first grow from within, his self-concept, self-esteem, morals, ethics, values, his mental stability. If you are not well personally, how do you study?

How is he fed? what do you mean? how do you like The victim of violence should personal guidance, sick person, father of the family, old man.

That’s how important professional guidance is; not only students have problems in learning, so do many adults have serious work conflicts due to bad attitude, dissatisfaction or a family matter that interferes with your work. The consultant is an expert for each work environment.

It is time to know that we all need guidance. It is up to us, as career guidance experts, to feel and reach out to parents, non-governmental organizations, public and private entities, organizations, community and parentsto practice orientation in its three axes: Educational, personal and professional. “A counselor is not a teacher.”
