According to the Norwegian newspaper “Dagbladet”, the municipality of Andermatt can look forward to a prominent new player: Manchester City star Erling’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, has moved to Switzerland.
Father Haaland is said to have announced his move on May 5. Since May 8, it can also be found in Andermatt’s resident records. Having operated for Leeds United and ManCity in England throughout his football career, Alf-Inge increased his money in the real estate market after his career and is mentoring his son Erling.
He is not the first Norwegian to leave his homeland and move to Switzerland due to high taxes. Norway is known for its relatively high taxes. Wealth tax is especially important for wealthy Norwegians. However: Switzerland is one of the few countries in Europe that has a wealth tax.
