Beat Breu (65) is touring Switzerland again. With his wife Heidi (69) as bistro chef of Bündner Zirkus Circus. From April to October he tours eastern Switzerland and is a guest in 30 towns and communities. The director couple Marco (48) and Ramona (45) Berger has been in the director’s chair for two years. The circus has now set up its tents in Pfäffikon ZH. First time with Breu on tap!

Because Beat Breu met only two weeks ago and offered him to run the bistro. “He was very pleased with the offer,” Berger says. “Breu really bloomed,” recalls the ringmaster from Domat/Ems. Breus was going to do the entire tour and the Christmas circus. “We’ve already made a deal for next year,” says Berger. Emin: “Breu is an asset to our circus!”

Dispute over 17,000 francs

Recently, the affectionately known “mountain flea” Ebnat-Kappel led a Christmas circus in SG. And he himself stood in the ring with a donkey. Also available: the legendary, historic bistro car of the bankrupt traditional circus Royal. Even there, Beat and Heidi were in charge of gastronomy. Everything was too much for Breu and she left the circus a year later. “We can no longer vouch for this sick company in our good name, and we don’t want to vouch for it,” he said at the time.

In 2019, Breu was finally able to fulfill his big dream about his own circus. But after only 13 days, the final curtain fell. Breu’s project turned into a nightmare and ended in a fiasco. Missing spectators, an argument with the circus owner for over 17,000 francs, rumors of sex orgies in the ring, lies, intrigues and mutual accusations were all that remained. ‘Of course none of this is true. I’m completely clean there,” he said at the time, when asked about Blick’s rumors in Schaffhausen.

Corona instead of tour

However, Breu later withdrew. Blick tracked down the winner of the 2020 Tour de France stage in Germany shortly after the fiasco. At the campsite. The tent was set up as if he was going on a grand tour at any moment. Whether he’s really planning a tour or wants to hold a circus at the campground, he left it open. Then Corona came – and the answer was out of date.
