Passenger numbers are expected to increase by ten percent to 185 million for the 2023/24 fiscal year, which runs through the end of March, the company announced in Dublin on Monday. However, this number may be slightly lower due to the delay of aircraft deliveries from manufacturer Boeing. Kerosene costs are likely to increase by one billion euros. However, increased sales should be able to make up for it. Ryanair therefore sees net profit slightly higher than in the previous year.
In the past financial year, Ryanair has continued to recover from the consequences of the corona pandemic and has benefited from price-conscious customers traveling in the face of the sharp rise in consumer prices. In the 2022/23 fiscal year, sales more than doubled to approximately 10.8 billion euros.
Passenger numbers increased by 74 percent to 168.6 million, and the company gained market share in most EU countries. Ryanair earned €1.43 billion after taxes. The Irish had recorded a loss of 355 million euros in the previous year. The numbers were slightly better than analysts expected.
