The luxury yacht Luna is in the port of Hamburg – investigators have now seized valuable works of art inside.

Usage in Hamburg port: “Luna” has been on the chain for months. Owned by Azerbaijani oligarch Farchad Akhmedov (67) – said to have good connections in the Kremlin.

The Frankfurt Public Prosecutor’s Office has been investigating the billionaire businessman who supports Russian politics for months. Last year, the EU imposed sanctions on Ahmedov.

Did not report assets to authorities

Now “Spiegel” reports that investigators from the Federal Criminal Police Office searched for “Luna” and confiscated works of art worth several million euros. There are said to be expensive paintings and other art objects.

However, he should have reported this to the German authorities after he was placed on the sanctions list. A spokesperson confirmed to Bild: “The defendant is suspected of violating the obligation to report assets to Deutsche Bundesbank and the Federal Office of Economic and Export Control after inclusion on the EU sanctions list.”

The 115-metre yacht will remain in Hamburg and will probably not be launched again any time soon. The white and blue yacht was originally built in 2010 for Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich (55). He floated the ship under his own flag for only four years, and then sold it to Akhmedov.

The yacht, which is operated by a crew of 49, can accommodate up to 20 guests. It is said that in the belly of the ship is a mini submarine for sea excursions. (what is that)
