What a discovery! Three forgotten Tesla Roadsters found in China. They are brand new. It has never been driven. Leather seats are still plastic welded. The steering wheel is still untouched. A feast for collectors. For Tesla, it all started with the Roadster in 2008. Production was stopped after four years. After only 2450 copies worldwide.
As reported by “Stern”, a Chinese ordered three Teslas in 2010. Two sports roadsters and one base model. Two models orange, one red but never picked them up from the port. Freight containers had flat tires. Now they should get a second chance.
Do the batteries still work?
Current owner wants to sell all three together. But also willing to scatter the little “collection” with the curious story. The current offer is currently $200,000 for all three. However, the price is likely to increase significantly. Even for examples with 200,000 kilometers on the odometer, much more than 100,000 francs are spent today.
However, it is not yet clear whether electric cars will still work. No one has experience with batteries that have not been connected to a charging station for 13 years. Rare vehicles should therefore be shipped to the USA first. You can get new batteries there. By then, the bids are likely to increase. (be)
