At the same time, sales were 3.8 billion francs, a decrease of 200 million compared to 2021. Biosuisse explained the drop in sales at its annual conference with the lack of corona-related special effects that initially caused sales to spike sharply in 2020.

However, organic sales follow a positive long-term trend, with an average annual growth of 200 million francs, as announced by Biosuisse.

In individual retail channels, 2022 sales were above the pre-pandemic level. However, it developed differently depending on the trade channel. For example, market leader Coop sold 3.6 percent less organic products compared to 2021, while Migros managed to grow by 0.9 percent at the same time.
