He has disappeared since resigning in the spring of 2021: Urs Rohner.

Credit Suisse (CS) speaks of the “Failure Council”. Financial market supervisory agency Finma is currently examining whether CS board members can be held accountable. Public pressure is increasing and one name in particular draws attention: Urs Rohner (63).

During his twelve years on the CS Board of Directors, the former General Counsel received approximately CHF 52 million – ten as Chairman of the Board. A rumor circulated in Zurich banking circles that Rohner was considering repaying some of his salary. That’s what CH Media newspapers reported on Tuesday.

He has already renounced five million francs

Rohner is no longer comfortable, afraid of “social exclusion.” The former CS captain, who resigned in 2021, is doing the same with former UBS boss Peter Wuffli, who returned nearly twelve million francs in 2008. But now it turns out that this information is just rumor.

Because Urs Rohner made it clear to CH Media on Tuesday: He’s not going to pay back! In an interview with the newspaper, Rohner referred to the years 2014-2021, when he “voluntarily” waived the payments of about five million francs to which he was entitled. It will stay this way. Rohner said he did not receive any bonuses as CS President. (NO)
