Doubt Pomy-Chips AG announced on Thursday that growth continues, particularly in the catering and apparel sectors. Specifically, sales increased 3.6 percent to CHF 287.8 million. The company does not disclose profits.
It was “almost” possible to defend good sales in the retail trade and exploit the opportunities of “Out of Home” structures reopened according to business development. In the gastronomy and ready-to-wear sector, it even exceeded the level of 2019.
Despite the non-ideal conditions, around 10,000 tons of chips and snacks were produced at the production plant in Spreitbach in 2022. The situation in the energy and raw material supply markets was very uncertain and tense.
The prices of potato and rapeseed oil used in making chips increased rapidly. The company also had to deal with the consequences of a massive fire in the immediate vicinity of its distribution center. However, operations can be maintained smoothly.
The Zweifel Pomy-Chips company celebrates its 65th anniversary as a private company. In 2022, the company employed 440 people, almost 40 more than the previous year. About 180 of them work at the production plant in Spreitbach, about 100 in the management, marketing and sales areas in Höngg, Zurich, and about 160 in the fresh food service and field service.
