Blick: Mr. Helfenstein, how is it possible that CS share lost another 25 percent yesterday?

André Helfenstein: We are in the process of restructuring and had a tough 2022. So we are much more visible than others. But we must not forget that we are subject to much more scrutiny than US banks. And do completely different jobs. However, there is only one unrest in the market at the moment.

Again: 25 percent red, this has nothing to do with US banks. This has to do with CS.

It has to do with the pressure on bank stocks in general. And of course with Credit Suisse.

How low can the CS share go? Almost zero?

I cannot comment on the share price. We are definitely not happy with the location of the course. We are feeling the pressure and want to bring the route back on the agenda. With a sturdier, quieter bench. We want to be more profitable.

Does Credit Suisse still hold the reins?

We can just be close to customers and focus on the new CS, which will be a different bank two years from now.

How can you regain customer trust?

It’s about facts and feelings. Many customers are very close to us and also give us encouragement and confidence. Our capital is very good. And we answer our customers’ questions.

How much does it hurt when customers leave the bank?

This hurt. We have had long-term relationships. But we face it.

When will the outflow of client funds stop?

We told what happened in 2022. Now we are trying to get the money back. But many customers stayed with us. That’s why we operate successfully in Switzerland.

Small savers in particular are concerned about whether their money is still safe with CS.

The stock price has nothing to do directly with how safe the money is. Swiss bank works well.

Are there any special conditions for customers to stay in CS?

Yes there is. We forwarded that too. We look at this on a case-by-case basis with the client.
