In July, SMS stamps will be replaced with digital stamps

The SMS stamp, a twelve-digit code on the envelope, has been in use for about ten years. Since November 2022, Swiss Post also offers this service to its customers in the Swiss Post application on their smartphones. It is now called DigitalStamp and has more functions: not only A Mail, but also B Mail – not only standard letters, but also large letters and parcels. Therefore, it will terminate its traditional SMS service on July 1, 2023.

According to Swiss Post, nothing will change for customers – except they now open the Post app instead of sending a text message to 414. New functions were no longer possible for Swiss Post with SMS technology, explains the change. At the same time, more and more customers are using the Post app on their smartphones.
