5G is giving Herrlibergern a hard time. A planned new antenna construction creates excitement in the town of 6,000 inhabitants. As reported by “Tages-Anzeiger”, residents of the privileged community are up in arms against the project.
“They are also residents of Herrliberg”
On Christmas Eve, they now receive mail from an unexpected source. According to the report, Sunrise boss André Krause, 52, who lives in Herrliberg with his wife and four children, is addressing residents of the upscale Lake Zurich community. “Like you, my family and I are residents of Herrliberg,” he writes.
For this reason, it is of personal interest to him that the residents of the planned mobile phone system are informed accurately and comprehensively. He had received anonymous letters trying to put pressure on the residents and arouse fear with baseless allegations.
“We don’t want to be exposed to radiation”
The mood is fierce. “We don’t want to be exposed to radiation,” a local resident complained to “Zuri Today” in November. Since the fall, they and other homeowners have opposed the antenna’s construction.
Sunrise CEO Krause is in favor of the construction of the six-metre high 5G antenna. According to “Tages-Anzeiger” he wants to ground the resistance against it. “As CEO of Sunrise, I have devoted myself to fact-based knowledge about mobile communications and 5G for years,” Krause writes to Herrliberg residents. Fueling fears with false claims is not an option.

Krause writes that with the new system, the radiation did not increase significantly. Strict Swiss limit values were to be observed. The protection of the public is always guaranteed. «Sunrise reserves the right to set up the mobile phone site if all regulations are complied with.
