Generali concludes from his survey, available only to Blick, that “The Federal Council’s call for energy savings (Editor’s note: in August 2023) has reached the majority of the population.”
The vast majority of Swiss people plan to save energy efficiently this winter, according to the insurer representative survey conducted from 16 to 22 November. This probably has something to do with the fact that one in two people fears an energy crisis and related power outages, according to the survey. “Low-income people and people from western Switzerland and Ticino are more afraid,” he continues. According to the research, most Swiss already ventilate properly to save energy. Three-quarters of respondents keep radiators empty and heat less. However, almost a quarter do not turn off power strips when they are not in use, and do not plan to do so, even though it is recommended by the Federal Council as a cost-saving measure.
