According to an analysis by job portal Indeed for the AWP news agency, there were 3.5 percent fewer job postings on company websites in mid-December than a month ago. The number of job postings posted was already falling in November: Back then, there were 11 percent fewer job postings than in October.
In total, more than 9,700 jobs are posted in the top 50 companies in Switzerland. The companies with the greatest staffing needs are Migros and Coop, the major distributors, although the number of job postings has decreased in both.
It is also remarkable how much the number of positions posted in the luxury goods group Richemont has dropped in recent weeks. The company’s website has about 200 job postings, which is about a quarter less than in November. On the other hand, there are significantly more open positions on the website of energy group Axpo (+31%) and pharmacy operator and pharmaceutical wholesaler Galenica (+16%) compared to a month ago.
