Peter Spuhler leaving Chairman of the Board of ZSC Lions AG

Stadler Rail boss Peter Spuhler (63) is leaving the board of ZSC Lions AG. The former ice hockey player returned to the hockey club’s board of directors as vice president in 2015 and, along with other board members, put the new Swiss Life Arena on track.

With the new ice rink coming into service at the end of August, there is now a major change in the Board of Directors. Alongside Spuhler, two entrepreneurs Hans-Peter Schwald (62) and Barend Fruithof (55) are leaving the Board of Directors. Schwald has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1997 and Fruithof since 2016.

Spuhler remains an investor

According to the hockey club’s website, the General Assembly on Tuesday elected Roger Kunz (58) and Peter Zahner (61) to the Board of Directors.

Spuhler is the general sponsor of Stadler Rail and the ZSC Lions, GCK Lions and youth division. As the lions write, the entrepreneur will stay on board as an investor and sponsor. Hockey fan Spuhler also sponsors Stadler Rail in HC Thurgau, the canton where the rail car manufacturer’s headquarters is located. (smt)
