Another streaming service with Paramount+ is nesting in Switzerland today. The offer includes series and feature films from Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, MTV and Paramount Pictures.
After a week of testing, the subscription costs CHF 12 per month in Switzerland. The streaming service costs about the same price as Disney+, but 7 francs cheaper than Netflix.
With a subscription, “Star Trek” fans can watch the first season of the new series “Strange New Worlds”. The second season has already been announced for 2023. And just before Christmas – on December 22 – the movie “Top Gun: Maverick” will be released on Paramount+.
Much fewer subscribers than Netflix and Disney+
At the end of September, Paramount+ had 46 million subscribers worldwide. That’s almost six times the Swiss population. Despite this, the streaming service still lags far behind its competitors.
By mid-year, Netflix had 220.7 million subscribers. Disney+ even surpassed its rivals with a total of 221.1 million subscribers.
At the same time, Paramount+ was launched in Germany and Austria today, Thursday. The streaming service is currently available in 45 different countries.
