Job shock at Kreuzlingen TG! Up to 70 out of 400 employees at Amcor Flexibles in Kreuzlingen could be affected by layoffs. The company has informed staff and the city of Kreuzlingen about the planned mass layoffs.
Amcor Limited is a global packaging company. It designs and manufactures flexible packaging, rigid containers, specialty cartons, closures and services for food, beverage, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, home and personal care products and other products.
Kreuzling mayor Thomas Niederberger confirmed to the Keystone-SDA news agency that he was personally briefed by the company about the measures planned to close a business.
City Hall in shock
The City Council deeply regrets the layoffs. Niederberger explained that he was assured that there was a social plan for the employees involved. The company also plans to establish a new business in Kreuzlingen in the near future.
Due to the ongoing consultation process, the exact size of the layoffs is not yet known. A request made to the company regarding the reasons for the layoffs has not been answered by Amcor at this time. (pbe/SDA)
