According to the organizers’ statement, schoolchildren can immerse themselves in jobs they did not know before for a day, thereby broadening their career horizons. This year, too, many special projects were booked in the first hour.
1,043 companies signed up for the basic program, invited employees’ children, and participated in the promotion of young professionals. Since registration is optional, the actual number of companies involved is likely to be even higher. 9731 project locations were offered.
Project day has been happening for 22 years – but the 2020 edition had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic. Future Day is a project of equal opportunity offices of several cantons, the cities of Bern and Zurich and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
The State Education, Research and Innovation Secretariat financially supports Future Day. Many professional and sector associations realized special projects this year.
