As the collective bargaining partners announced in Frankfurt on Tuesday, about 19,000 employees at parent company Lufthansa will receive a combination of base increases and percentage increases next year. The framework collective agreement was also revised.
Accordingly, the salaries of those who are just starting a career increase by more than 17 percent, while in the final stage the salary increases by almost 9 percent. A basic salary of 250 euros from 1 January 2023 and an additional 2.5 percent from 1 July was agreed. Five one-time payments were agreed for the current year, totaling €1,200. The new collective agreement expires on 31 December 2023.
For its professional group, UFO was the only union at the Lufthansa parent company that did not go on strike. With the first-fold increase in wages after the two-year crisis caused by the pandemic, we can now move on to 2023, when a rise in Lufthansa is expected. We believe that the protection of valuable work in the Lufthansa cabin can be further enhanced in this way,” said Stefan Schwerthelm, member of the Ufo collective bargaining board.
Lufthansa HR Director Michael Niggemann emphasized the social component. “The lower and middle wage groups will benefit disproportionately from the deal. In this way, we fulfill our social responsibility and ensure our attractiveness as an employer.”
