Swiss companies rate malware risk as high

A total of 54 percent of Swiss executives surveyed plan to increase their budgets to fight malware (ransomware) next year. More than two-thirds of companies surveyed improved their cybersecurity in the past year.

On the other hand, only half of the Swiss companies surveyed were able to report improved risk management regarding their supply chains, consulting firm PwC said on Tuesday. The risk status is still rated high.

PwC surveyed more than 3,500 executives from 65 countries in the Global Digital Trust Insights Survey. Some of the losses companies have suffered from cyber attacks or data breaches in recent years include loss of customers and data, damage to reputation or brand.
