The third test flight of the Starship rocket will take place this Thursday. Behind it is SpaceX, the space company owned by technology billionaire Elon Musk (52). If the test flight is successful, manned missions to the Moon or Mars will be possible.
There will be a 110-minute window during which the rocket can take off at 13:00 on March 14. Blick will broadcast the rocket launch live. The take-off point is the SpaceX spaceport in Texas (USA).
Once launched, the rocket must fly for a total of one hour and then both rocket parts must land in the sea. The rocket consists of two stages, each 70 and 50 meters long.
During the first test flight, the rocket exploded shortly after takeoff. In the second test, the two rocket stages managed to separate from each other, but both later exploded separately. SpaceX received approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) shortly before the launch of its third test flight.
