Most tickets are now purchased online. Sales at ticket machines fell 15.4 percent. (archive image)

Alliance Swisspass announced on Wednesday that 28.9 percent of total sales came from individual ticket sales. A total of 175 million single tickets were sold last year.

21.9 percent of sales were general seasonal (GA) sales, 9.2 percent were association annual combined tickets and 9.4 percent were daily tickets. An average of 68 percent of public transport ticket purchases were made digitally.
