At the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency, SPS said in a statement on Sunday that this suspension was aimed at making a negotiated solution possible. Thus confirming a report by “NZZ am Sonntag”.

The postal service was also confident, as it wrote in its response, that “together we will find a good solution.” Neither the post office nor SPS wanted to publicize what this agreement would look like.

However, Swiss Post believes that the two logos can coexist without creating a disadvantage for either party. For SPS, it is still a matter of minimizing the risk of confusion. In this respect, they have not deviated from their original positions.

Modernized for the anniversary

The postal service modernized its logo at the beginning of the year to celebrate its 175th anniversary. Since then, the trademarked mail consists of a stylized red Swiss cross with a black letter “P” on yellow.

SPS complained that this new logo was too similar to its own, especially when used in black and white. Because this one also consists of a cross and a capital P, but in blue on a white background. SPS therefore initiated an objection procedure with the IGE.
